THE MEASURING DEVICE OF THE AEROSOL PARTICLE MASS CONCENTRATION - “AEROCON”
It helps to measure the mass concentration of the dust of different origins and its chemical formula. It controls the over limits of the maximum allowable concentration in the air of the working zone. There is a technological control of air conditioning systems, ventilation systems, and air purity of objects of different purposes and applications. The device is used for sanitary-and-hygienic and technological control of the air environment in laboratory and field conditions.
Assignment of the measuring device
The “AEROCON” measuring devices of the P-M-C models for the mass concentration of aerosol particles (hereinafter referred to as the “AEROCON” measuring devices) are developed to measure the mass concentration of aerosol particles in the air of the working area. Also, they operate the in-process control of air conditioning systems, ventilation systems, and air purity of objects of different purposes
Description of the device
The principle of operation of the measuring devices is optical. It is based on the registration of the scattering radiation. The radiating unit is an injection laser with a wavelength of 670 microns. The aerosol particles located in the ray path defuse the incident radiation. The integral value of the scattering radiation intensity is proportional to the mass concentration of aerosol particles.
Structurally, the AEROCON-P model consists of the information processing unit and metering case. They are connected by a speсial-purpose cable. The sample of the air is pumped through the cell unit of the metering case per the underpressure. It is created by an integral fan. Electric signals are transmitted to the information processing unit. The measured data are visualized on the display.
The AEROCON-M model consists of a single unit. It contains a measuring cell and an appendage plump for pumping the samples.
The AEROCON-C model consists of a single metering unit. It has a similar construction to the measuring block of the AEROCON-P model. The measurement information is transmitted to the personal mainframe via the RS-485 interface. It is visualized via standard Windows operating system programs. There is an analog output (4-20 milliampere) and control signals transmission via relay-types outputs.
The measuring device models differ in full-scale ranges, weight, and dimensions
Software
The measuring devices are operated by built-in software. It is an “Aerocon” software. The software is used to set parameters for displaying the measurement result, setting measurement modes, saving measurement results, viewing, and emptying the measurement archive, transmitting the results to external devices, etc.
For AEROCON-P, M models the software is identified by displaying the title and software version number (its identification number).
The measuring devices have software protection against intentional or unintentional changes, corresponding to the ‘C’ level according to a guideline 3286-2010.
